Sevan Naccashian is proof of fairy tales. She left Armenia in the early 1990′s to reside in Montreal, a city built on art and immigration.

She endeavored, driven by her love of art, to return periodically to Armenia to complete her master’s degree in painting and graphics at the Fine Arts Academy of Yerevan (completed in 1992), where she then continued studying as a graduate student (completed in 1995).

She currently is traveling through Europe’s cultural Meccas and havens, from Sartre’s Pari(s) to Blake’s chartered London streets, Holland, and further a field to the streets of the folk renaissance, Greenwich Village, New York.

Her experiences are compiled in a unique manner within her body of work and her life and her life and her work as both are the same and interchangeable.

Her work has not gone unnoticed and her CV includes a string of exhibits to her credit across the world where her unorthodox art and unique styles have been rewarded with sales and prizes from leading art institutions and centers across North America and Europe.

Her repertoire is one that has never turned to stone. She is currently engaged in a project where she and a writer are exploring the fine blurry line between the written language, the visual language and the phonetic language.

Who is Sevan and what does she stand for? What does her art show? Well, simply the beauty in the world and the beauty that could be endeavor.
